To deliver a new link across the River Strule between the north-west of Omagh and the north-east of Omagh to reduce journey times between these areas, facilitate access to the site of the proposed Strule Shared Education Campus and re-duce town centre traffic congestion.

This objective was achieved through construction of a new single carriageway road and bridge across the River Strule to link the A5 Beltany Road with the B48 Gortin Road via the U1528 Strathroy Road Link to the north-east.

Principal Work Activities: Construction of a reinforced and pre-stressed concrete river bridge, Major earthworks including cuttings, em-bankments and pre-earthworks drainage, Construction of approximately 1200m of new single carriageway road, Construction of a roundabout, Construction of a flood protection wall at Hunters Crescent, Management of temporary traffic ar-rangements to maintain traffic flows.
