The works included an upgrading of 730 metres of the existing N4-N15 dual carriageway, northwards from Hughes Bridge, to three lanes in both directions, together with junction improvements at the R870 Markievicz Road and N16 Duck Street, and transforming the R291 Rosses Point Road to a T-Junction.

Improvements were also made to the open spaces at the Salmon Point Recreation Area and to the Rosses Point Road/N15 junction.The scheme also repaired the masonry arch section of the Copper River culvert under the Rosses Point Road and replaced the culvert crossing the N15.
